COLLECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

As part of providing the service that we have been engaged for , we will collect your personal information which will then be stored securely with us. This information may be collected directly from you but also from other health care providers who may have been involved in your care , referring law firms or other third party stake holders. This information will be accessible to authorised staff of Specialist Medicolegal and also to other specialist contractors engaged by us to provide a service for you.

DATA MANAGEMENT

It is our endeavour to ensure that all personal data we collect is correct and up to date. We will request you to confirm the same at the time of your interaction with us. In the instance that any of the details have changed please advice us about it in writing. We take all reasonable measures to ensure that your data is safe and well protected.

DISCLOSURE OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

Your personal information will always be stored in a secure manner and will be accessible only to authorised staff members of Specialists Medicolegal.

However for the purpose of providing the requested service as part of your healthcare , we will such information with other requisite care providers including other medical and allied health service providers.

In the instance there is an adverse outcome or need for any legal intervention , your information will be shared with medical indemnity service providers.

Your personal information will also be shared with other third party non health care providers including your lawyers ,  your employer or your insurance provider.

In other situations we would not disclose your personal information without obtaining your consent.

COMPLAINTS

In the instance that you have concerns or a grievance regarding the way we have handled your personal information then please contact us with details of your concern in writing. This will help us address you complaint in a fair and expeditious manner. If you are unhappy with the response we provide, you may refer your complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
